Counting days on a calendar is slow and easy to get wrong across month ends and leap years. This calculator counts the exact number of days between two dates and also expresses the gap in weeks, months and days, decimal years and hours.
Use it for countdowns to holidays or events, notice periods, loan and rental terms, pregnancy and project timelines, or how long ago something happened.
How to use the Days Between Dates Calculator
- Pick a start date (defaults to today).
- Pick an end date.
- Tick "include the end date" if both days should be counted.
- Read the total days, weeks and months.
Inclusive vs. exclusive counting
By default the calculator counts the days from the start date up to (but not including) the end date — the same way you'd count "nights" in a hotel stay. Ticking "include the end date" adds one day, which matches how many rental agreements and event schedules count days.
Worked example
From October 14, 2026 to December 25, 2026 is 72 days, or 10 weeks and 2 days.
