About this image resizer

Job portals, government forms, marketplaces and social networks all have their own image size rules. This resizer lets you set an exact width and height in pixels or scale by a percentage, keeps the proportions locked so photos don't stretch, and saves as JPG, PNG or WebP.

The image is resized on your own device with your browser's high-quality scaling — no upload, no waiting and no watermark.

How to use the Image Resizer

  1. Choose or drop an image.
  2. Enter a new width or height (the other updates automatically), or a percentage.
  3. Pick an output format.
  4. Click "Resize & download".

Pixels, proportions and quality

With "keep aspect ratio" on, changing one dimension recalculates the other from the original proportions. Making an image smaller keeps it sharp; enlarging it can't add detail that wasn't captured, so large upscales will look soft.

Worked example

A 4032 × 3024 phone photo resized to 1200 px wide becomes 1200 × 900 px and typically drops from several megabytes to a few hundred kilobytes.

Tips for better results

  • For websites, 1200–2000 px wide is usually plenty for full-width images.
  • Use PNG for screenshots and graphics with text; use JPG or WebP for photos.

Frequently asked questions

Will resizing reduce quality?

Making images smaller keeps them sharp. Enlarging beyond the original size makes them softer.
