Time Zone Converter
Convert a date and time between US and world time zones, with daylight saving built in.
About this time zone converter
Scheduling across time zones is error-prone, especially around daylight saving time, when the gap between two cities can change for a few weeks each spring and fall. This converter uses the official time zone database built into your browser, so daylight saving rules are applied automatically for the exact date you pick.
Pick a date and time, choose where it's from and where you want it converted to, and you'll see the local time in both places plus the time difference.
How to use the Time Zone Converter
- Choose the date and time.
- Choose the time zone that time is in.
- Choose the time zone to convert to.
- Read the converted time and the difference.
How the conversion works
The time you enter is converted to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) using the source zone's offset on that date, then displayed in the target zone. Because offsets come from the IANA time zone database, changes like the US and Europe switching to daylight saving on different weekends are handled correctly.
Worked example
2:00 PM on October 14, 2026 in Houston (Central Daylight Time, UTC−5) is 8:00 PM in London (British Summer Time, UTC+1) — a 6-hour difference that briefly becomes 5 hours in late October when the UK changes its clocks a week before the US.
Tips for better results
- When inviting people in several zones, state the time in UTC or in each attendee's zone.
- Arizona (except the Navajo Nation) and Hawaii don't observe daylight saving time.
