List randomizer & random name picker
Shuffle any list or draw fair random winners for giveaways, teams and classes.
About this list randomizer & name picker
Pick a giveaway winner, choose who presents first, split a class or office into teams, or put a to-do list in random order. Paste your names or items, choose a mode and click Randomize — the draw is fair and each result is time-stamped so you can screenshot it as a record.
The shuffle uses the Fisher–Yates algorithm with secure randomness, which gives every possible order exactly the same probability.
How to use the List Randomizer & Name Picker
- Paste names or items, one per line.
- Choose pick winners, shuffle or split into teams.
- Set how many winners or teams.
- Click Randomize and copy or screenshot the result.
How the draw stays fair
The list is shuffled with the Fisher–Yates algorithm using the Web Crypto API. Winners are the first entries of the shuffled list; teams are dealt out in turn like cards, so team sizes differ by at most one.
Worked example
Eight names split into 3 teams gives two teams of three and one team of two, in a random arrangement.
Tips for better results
- For social media giveaways, paste the commenter list and keep "remove duplicates" on so multiple comments don't add extra chances (unless your rules allow it).
