Mailing lists, keyword research, inventory exports and copied tables often contain the same entry several times. This tool removes duplicate lines while keeping the first occurrence of each one in its original order, and tells you how many duplicates were removed.
Turn on "ignore upper/lowercase" to treat "Apple" and "apple" as the same item — handy for email addresses — and "trim spaces" to catch duplicates that differ only by stray spaces.
How to use the Remove Duplicate Lines
- Paste your list with one item per line.
- Choose the matching options.
- Copy the de-duplicated list.
How duplicates are detected
Each line is compared with the lines before it. When a match is found (using the options you chose), the later copy is dropped. Order is preserved, so the result is your original list minus repeats.
Worked example
The list apple, banana, Apple, cherry, banana, cherry becomes apple, banana, cherry with case ignored — 3 duplicates removed.
