Remove Line Breaks
Join broken lines from PDFs and emails into clean paragraphs.
About this remove line breaks
Text copied from PDFs, emails and some websites often comes with a hard line break at the end of every line. Paste it into a document or form and you get ragged, broken sentences. This tool joins those lines back into flowing paragraphs in one step.
With "keep paragraph breaks" on, real paragraph breaks (blank lines) are preserved while the unwanted breaks inside paragraphs are removed.
How to use the Remove Line Breaks
- Paste the text with broken lines.
- Choose whether to keep paragraph breaks and what to replace line breaks with.
- Copy the cleaned text.
How it works
Line breaks inside a paragraph are replaced with a space (or your chosen replacement), extra spaces are collapsed, and blank lines are treated as paragraph separators when that option is on. Choose "comma + space" to turn a list of lines into a comma-separated list.
Worked example
Three lines from a PDF — "This text was copied from a PDF and every / line is broken in the wrong place, which / makes it hard to paste anywhere." — become one clean sentence.
Tips for better results
- Turn a column of names into a comma-separated list by choosing "comma + space" and turning off paragraph breaks.
Frequently asked questions
Why does text from a PDF have line breaks?

Will this remove my paragraphs?
