Lorem Ipsum Generator
Generate placeholder paragraphs, sentences or words for designs and mockups.
About this lorem ipsum generator
Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin that designers and publishers have used as placeholder text for decades. Because it looks like real text but can't be read, it lets clients and teammates focus on layout, typography and spacing instead of the words.
Generate any number of paragraphs, sentences or words, and copy it as plain text or wrapped in HTML paragraph tags ready to drop into a web page or template.
How to use the Lorem Ipsum Generator
- Choose how many paragraphs, sentences or words you need.
- Pick plain text or HTML.
- Click Generate (or change any option) and copy the text.
Where lorem ipsum comes from
The standard passage is derived from De finibus bonorum et malorum, a philosophical work by Cicero written in 45 BC, with words altered and removed so it reads as nonsense. Each generation here mixes words from that vocabulary at random.
Worked example
Three paragraphs is roughly 150–250 words — about right for a blog post preview or a landing-page section.
Tips for better results
- Replace placeholder text with real content before publishing — search engines treat lorem ipsum as low-quality content.
